My teaching philosophy, shaped by my practice as a clinical social worker, is to educate, empower, and encourage students in an engaging environment that values critical thinking, problem solving, and respect for diverse perspectives. I begin each semester by building trust, setting clear expectations, and creating space for students to bring their own experiences into dialogue with theory and practice. Through discussions, collaborative activities, and honest conversations around identity, values, and bias, I encourage students to think critically about themselves and the world around them. My goal is not only for students to learn concepts but to understand their relevance and apply them meaningfully, growing into thoughtful, ethical, and effective social workers and leaders.
